Hillcrest Liverpool Central

The hotel is well placed for the attractions, close to the docks and city centre, and I’d definitely stay again. I’m already planning another trip. We had a great weekend in November. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the room was large and clean with a very comfortable bed. The only issue was the lift being out of order, but they’d clearly told us about it before we arrived.

I stayed by myself. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, and the room was big and clean, with plenty of towels and a powerful shower. The TV was small and only picked up three or four channels. The lift was out of order, and from other reviews it seems it had been broken for several months. Liverpool Central station and Liverpool One bus station are both nearby.

I booked a deluxe double, but there was hardly room to move. They put us on the sixth floor even though the lift wasn’t working. They said they’d emailed me, but I never got one. We changed rooms to the third floor. The receptionist was helpful, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was basically a box, barely big enough for the bed, and the bed was really uncomfortable. The fire alarm went off because of the shower. I knew the lift was broken, but the stairs were unbelievably steep. There weren’t any directions for getting from the room to the main desk, either.
