The room was simple but clean, with a private bathroom, a hair dryer and a comfortable bed with fresh linen. I slept really well. The hotel itself is basic, but the staff were friendly and check-in was easy enough. There's free internet at a decent speed, though mobile data barely worked for me there. There was no kettle or TV in the room. You can get hot drinks for free in reception, but nobody mentioned that when I checked in. I could hear some noise, as you'd expect so close to the nightlife, and earplugs were provided. I stayed on a Monday, so weekends might feel different. Good value for money, and the location on Matthew St is right in the heart of the city.

The lounge was a nice extra, with a coffee machine and microwave, and the staff were helpful. Our room was clean and pleasant, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. We enjoyed our stay, but would have stayed longer if the prices didn't jump so much at weekends.

The Kabin bar was where I left my bag for a few hours using the Stasher app. I ended up staying for a drink when I picked it up. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a clean place, with a perfect spot for people watching in the Cavern district. I'll definitely book a stay here next time I'm in Liverpool.

The rooms and facilities were great and just as advertised. My concern was that there didn't seem to be anyone on night duty. When the fire alarm went off, all the guests gathered outside, but no staff came to say whether it was safe to return or if we needed to evacuate fully. We eventually went back in once the alarm stopped, still unsure if the problem had been dealt with. That felt very unsafe.

We stayed here for an event and found a good price, funky rooms and a nice little view of the street. The ground-floor bar looked quite pleasant, though we didn't spend any time there during our stay.
