The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place was clean. Still, we felt it was overpriced. Our windowless box room barely fit the double bed, which wasn't comfortable, and rowdy guests kept arriving through the night, making it noisy. Breakfast was plain and uninspiring in a tiny kitchen diner. Plenty of other guests went to the nearby MacDonald' s for breakfast. It's about a 25-minute walk to the city centre. A disappointing, overpriced one-off for us. Sorry to be so negative, but that's how it felt.

This B&B felt like a jail, with warning signs posted everywhere, and there was no leisure at all. I wouldn't recommend booking it. In the morning, the girls kept coming to my door to check whether I'd left and pushed me to check out. I booked a room with an attached bathroom toilet, but that wasn't what I got. If you book, make sure you call the rude owner to confirm. When I arrived at the Liverpool location, nobody answered the door. A woman came from somewhere and told me, without any prior notice, that my room had been moved to another location. The Asian owner was very rude.

The rooms are basic, with a sink, and the decor is very dated. There's just one ensuite room, so you have to ask for it when booking. Otherwise, the shower and toilets are shared. It's an option if you're short on money or in a pinch, and the main road makes it easy to catch a bus into the city centre.

I was on a business trip, and this wasted some of my time and left me stressed. I had a prepaid booking but was refused check-in. They wouldn't even let me inside, so I had to call the owner from the cold street. I went to another nearby hotel. The owner was exceptionally rude. I stayed calm, but he wouldn't listen, kept interrupting me, told me to shut up repeatedly over the phone, hung up, and then texted the same thing. I told him there was no need to speak to me that way. He thought I was interrupting him and lectured me that people in this country wouldn't do that, so I should shut up and listen. This got old very quickly. Don't book unless you're okay with possibly being turned away, trying to get your money back from your bank or PayPal, and having someone shout at you. It seemed pretty dodgy. Avoid it at all costs.
