Please don’t book these apartments. We never even got to stay. We booked six months ahead, then nine days before arrival they told us they couldn’t honour the booking because of a change of management. They offered another apartment, but its reviews were poor and it wasn’t the same quality. There was no discount, so we declined and asked for an immediate refund because we needed to book somewhere else. Five days passed without a refund. Then they said a cancellation had come up and they could accommodate us after all. We again asked for a full refund that day, but heard nothing. I kept checking my credit card and still no refund. The next day I tried calling and only got an answering machine, leaving a request for a call back. Nothing. I called again the day after and eventually reached a receptionist who knew nothing about our booking. She said she’d email her manager, who would get back to me. Still nothing. Now we have to get the money back through the credit card company, and we’ve had to pay double for our trip. Awful service. I can’t comment on the apartment itself since we never saw one, but if it’s as bad as the service, god help anyone who’s booked. I’d take that one star back if I could.
We paid 572 for one night in an apartment and expected something exceptional for that price. Past the lovely hallway, though, it was unclean and shabby, nothing like the online photos. There were bugs in the kitchen and mould in the freezer. The advertised terrace was a cement yard being used as a dump, with broken bottles, weeds, cigarette ends and empty drug canisters. Reception said someone would come to sort it, but a maintenance man arrived with his young child instead. He said he couldn’t do much beyond sweep the mess into a corner, which he did before leaving after 10 minutes. Within an hour, the main bathroom toilet broke, overflowed and flooded the floor. The same maintenance man came back and said he couldn’t fix it, then sealed off that bathroom, leaving seven of us with one ensuite. After several of the women kept asking to move, he reluctantly left us a key to a smaller upstairs apartment that hadn’t been cleaned so we could use its bathroom. The place was very tired, with chipped paint and bits falling off in the ensuite. There was no care taken. The windows were very thin, not glazed, so you could hear everything from the street. I wouldn’t recommend the basement apartment, though we loved Liverpool’s bars and the people we met while out, and would visit the city again and stay elsewhere.
The hotel and customer service were terrible. None of our key cards let us into the hotel, so we stood outside in the rain for hours until they finally gave us a master key. Our complaints got nowhere. The office blamed us for the faulty cards and gave us replacements, then promised they’d be open 24 hours on Saturday. They weren’t, and the new keys didn’t work either. They wouldn’t take responsibility. Horrendous company, don’t stay here.
We supplied telecom services to this company, but they refused to pay more than £800 they owed us. When we asked for payment, the owner, Rob Ware, threatened me with violence. I took the complaint to court and won, but still had to get a High Court writ to get the money. Never deal with them. They’re a disgrace.
We were right across from two nightclubs, so it got very noisy at night, though that didn’t bother us. The location was brilliant for pubs, bars, places to eat and shopping.
