The biggest letdown was that there was no breakfast, despite the rest of the stay being such good value. From the pub's closing time, 9pm during our February visit, until the cheerful, helpful woman came in to tidy up, guests are on their own. Ask someone to show you how to get out in the morning, since the exit isn't the front door. The room was a pleasant surprise for a pub with just three rooms. It matched the website photos, with a modern, sumptuous look and dark, relaxing colours. Our bathroom and shower were spacious, the room was warm, and there was plenty of room for clothes. Music from the bar carries up until closing, when it's switched off quickly. It didn't really affect us, though it could bother some people. There's no formal check-in. Go to the bar opposite the entrance and the very friendly team will get you settled. One staff member showed us the security door that keeps bar customers from wandering upstairs by mistake. There's no lift, and the stairs turn a corner, but they're wide. The bar has a mix of large and small open rooms, with a fireplace or two. There was a big choice of drinks and food, and the food was surprisingly good for such a large menu. We tried the local dish called 'Scouse' and would recommend it, either vegetarian or with meat. The area around the Inn was an unexpected gem among new housing estates, a business park and a large Shell service area. It's a nice mix of business, old and new housing, with an interesting range of locals and visitors. You can reach the countryside around Liverpool in minutes. The building itself isn't much to look at from outside, and the stonework could use a clean, though the smart modern glass entrance contrasts nicely with the Inn's older design. It's a very good-value place to stay and eat in this area, and we'd recommend it.

I've been in twice lately, once for a gorgeous Sunday roast and then again last Friday for drinks. It's cosy, super clean, and the staff are friendly. They have a huge range of my favourite vodkas, along with lots of other drinks.

For dessert we shared a cheese board platter, which was very nice. The Sunday roast was excellent, and the staff were really friendly. I was happy ordering at the bar too, since they served me quickly and efficiently.

The steak pie was probably the best I've ever had. I had it with skin-on fries, while my wife chose mash, and both were delicious. We first tried a couple of the lunch specials, which were okay, just well-cooked and presented dishes that you could probably find in a local supermarket freezer. It's a really nice place with lovely staff and reasonable prices. We'll definitely go back.

The pizza deal at The Clock Face was gorgeous today 🤩 Service was faultless, and Katie deserves a special mention for being absolutely amazing 🥰💯 We'll definitely be back!
