We had a one-night birthday stay and were made to feel welcome even before check-in. Ronnie chatted with us while we queued, and when Harvey at the desk overheard that it was my birthday, he arranged an early check-in, a higher-floor room upgrade, complimentary late checkout and two free bar drinks. The room was spotless, with a very comfortable bed, a good-sized TV, complimentary minibar snacks and drinks, and what might be the best shower I’ve had. The lobby was just as clean, and the bar staff were friendly in a pleasant setting. From arrival to departure, everything felt perfect. We’re definitely hoping to return this year. Harvey and Ronnie are a credit to the hotel, and their kindness, along with the room standard, is a big reason we want to come back.

Our puppy’s first hotel and city break went so well. The hotel is beautifully decorated and spotless, and the unusual room layout felt fresh, though it took us a moment to work out the light switches. The city centre is an easy walk away. The food and drinks were delicious, and the service was outstanding. Our dog had a bed and bowls in the room, plus plenty of treats, and was treated like a VIP. Ella was especially warm and kind to our dog when we met her on the second night. After hearing we were celebrating my 30th birthday, she surprised us with a voucher for two free drinks. Such a thoughtful gesture. There’s a service charge on food and drink, something to know before your stay, but the service was so good that it felt justified. Stylish, welcoming and genuinely dog-friendly. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our few nights at the Halyard. The area felt safe and was easy to explore on foot, and although livelier parts of the city are only a few streets away, it was quiet and pleasant. The bar is lovely, the location is great, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We had a superior double room. It had some cool features, but was a bit cramped, with lots of little nooks and limited space to unpack or set things up. The rooms are small and not entirely practical. We’d stay again.

The location made it easy to explore Liverpool, with plenty of good bars and restaurants just a short walk away. The welcome and customer service were excellent from the moment we arrived, and check-in was quick and easy. Our modern room had a super comfortable bed and a great shower. It faced the main road, but we didn’t hear traffic or noise from other rooms. It was my first proper visit, and Liverpool is easily the friendliest city I’ve been to in England. We’ll stay here again next time.
