The beds were among the best I’ve slept in at a hotel, and I loved my stay at the Titanic Hotel Liverpool. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and getting around from the location was easy. The bar food and breakfast were both really nice, with enough choice to stay in for meals if you wanted. Free WiFi, too. Parking was convenient, but cost £10 a night and wasn’t included in the room rate. I also wasn’t keen on the £2.40-per-night tourist levy. I know it’s a tourist charge, but it felt like a bit of a joke.

Andy and Daisy at the bar were fantastic, friendly and attentive, and made us feel welcome. The restaurant waitress was lovely too, and did her best even with the delays. Unfortunately, that was a bright spot in a stay that fell well short of what we expected. The room was hard to sleep in. The air conditioning was loud and kept switching on during the night, and the pillows were uncomfortable. We both woke up with bites after sleeping in the bed, which was concerning. Dinner was slow to arrive at first: with only ten other tables occupied, we waited 40 minutes for two medium rare steaks, although the next course came quickly. We chose the hotel largely for access to the Maya Blue Wellness spa. Before arriving, I emailed and was told we could use the facilities on our first night. At reception, though, they said we weren’t booked in. I showed them the email, but got neither an apology nor a solution. When I followed up by email, the first reply said it was fully booked. I explained the situation straight away and heard nothing more. We were also told there was no availability the next day, which was extremely frustrating given why we’d booked. The poor handling of this and the lack of follow-up left us really disappointed.

The spa treatments were the best we’ve ever had, and the spa itself was fantastic. There was a small mix-up with treatment times, but the manager sorted it out easily. The room was huge and fantastic, and we enjoyed the lovely food during our night at the Titanic hotel with my daughter. I did catch a faint smell from the docks now and then, but it didn’t spoil the stay. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks to everyone.

We had a really peaceful stay, even though the Titanic Hotel Liverpool is only a short taxi ride from town. The dockside setting gives the place a relaxed, classy feel, and the exposed brick and high ceilings make the building feel special while still warm and welcoming. We enjoyed drinks at Stanley’s Bar & Grill, which had a lovely atmosphere. Our room was massive, spotless, and nicely decorated. The bed was so comfortable that we had one of our best nights’ sleep in a hotel, and the bathroom and little finishing touches felt high quality. Staff were friendly, professional, and happy to help with anything. One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had, and we’ll definitely return.

The room was the main letdown. I’d asked for a good one because it was a special occasion, but we got the smallest room on the floor, 201. It looked tired, the contact film on the furniture didn’t do much to freshen it up, the shower was dated and poor, and there weren’t many options in the fridge. Each morning around 6:30 we were woken by laundry trolleys being loaded into a truck, with lots of banging. The spa was frustrating too. I called to book treatments and left a message asking for a callback, but nobody replied. Reception said they couldn’t help and that we had to go to the spa desk ourselves, which was already closed. The next day there were no treatments available, so we paid just to use the facilities. The foot spa wasn’t working, the steam room was off, and we had to ask where to find water. The herbal tea was cold because the candle warmer had gone out. None of the treatment rooms were in use, so it didn’t look like massages were unavailable because they were busy. We went elsewhere for one. Breakfast didn’t feel good enough for a high-end hotel. I also found it steep to pay extra for spa access and parking after spending over £900 for three nights. Having to pay separately each time for dinner, drinks, spa, and so on, instead of charging them to the room, felt draconian. Then we saw adverts in the room for deals at £125 a night or £195 with breakfast and a three-course meal. I’d paid over £300 per night for just the room and breakfast, which made me feel like a cheapskate despite paying far more. I booked direct to avoid the hotel paying online booking fees, so that left me even more unhappy. I emailed them all this. I got plenty of apologies, but no real effort to put things right, just replies about taking my comments on board.
