Starling Cloud, Aberystwyth by Marston’s Inns

The Starling Cloud pub and the inn have things spot on. I couldn’t find a single fault, and I’ll definitely be back. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was superb, tasty and plentiful. If you run a pub or hotel, or serve food, you should come here to see how it’s done. Well done to everyone, and keep up the great work.

I’m a wheelchair user, and getting around here was easy. The doors are extra wide, and the hallways are wide and straight, so reaching my room and moving around it was a doddle. The room was nice, with a very comfortable bed, a desk, kettle, hot drink sachets, a small hanging space, one chair and a huge wetroom with an amazing shower. We had dinner and breakfast at the inn next door, which is part of the complex. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the food was great. You have to try the bacon chop, trust me. We were visiting a friend in North Wales and had chosen the place on the recommendation of friends in the area.

Rooms were exceptionally clean, and the beds, pillows and other bed clothes were extremely comfortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the food and drinks were good quality. My only request is to have fresh coffee at breakfast instead of instant. Thank you.

The room was comfortable and the food was good. Customer service was excellent. A guy called David, I think, greeted us and looked after us brilliantly throughout our stay. Drink prices were the one letdown. A large wine was £12 and a pint £7.10. I felt like I was in London rather than Aberystwyth. Those prices led us to drink elsewhere, which was a shame because the menu was lovely.
