We had dinner at the restaurant on our first night, and the food was delicious and well cooked. Breakfast was served over three mornings, with plenty of choice and everything done well. The Victoria Inn at Sigingstone had a large parking area outside, and we’ll return. My wife and I had come to Llantwit Major to visit family and booked three nights of bed and breakfast. We received a good welcome, and the room was comfortable, with tea, coffee, and bottled water, which was a nice surprise. The king-size bed was comfortable too. The en-suite was clean and modern, and the shower cubicle was brilliant, with a simple twist to turn it on or off and set the temperature.

I’ve always liked The Victoria Inn, and it’s usually a great place to eat. But the Sunday roast I had recently was well below its usual standard. The potatoes were awful, clearly reheated and very salty, and the cauliflower cheese was among the worst I’ve tried. I hope they address it.

It’s a lovely little pub with excellent staff. The meals are highly recommended, really homemade and unctuous.

We rang ahead and booked a table before coming tonight, and had no trouble getting one. It’s a dog-friendly pub, and we were seated with our dogs in a carpeted area, which helped them settle. The staff were friendly and attentive. We shared fish pancakes, lamb rump, and steak and kidney pie. Everything was really tasty, with decent portions. Lovely pub, and I’d recommend trying it if you’re in the area.

The service was faultless, and the loos were nice. We also got some lovely sunshine. We were staying nearby in a cottage for a few nights, so decided to try a meal at the local pub. It’s nice that places like this are still around serving proper home-cooked food. The menu was fairly standard, aimed at the masses, though the fish pancake stood out.
