We were travelling with my elderly mother, so the lift was a great addition. The staff were friendly and willing to help, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was very good. The bar was reasonably priced too. The decor could perhaps do with an update, but it was more than adequate for a short holiday. It's a traditional Georgian/Victorian seaside hotel on the promenade, and I'd definitely stay again.

All the staff were polite and helpful, and the clean room had everything we needed. It was nice to be served the whole breakfast at the table instead of fetching some of it ourselves, which added to the hotel's charm. A lovely stay in a place full of character.

The food is excellent and there are plenty of choices. The hotel is lovely, welcoming and in a great location, and the staff are pleasant and always willing to help. Some rooms are being refurbished, and the new ones look lovely. Can't wait to come back.

We were welcomed by very friendly staff when checking in, after the bar staff pointed us to reception. The room was on the third floor, with a double bedroom and an adjoining room with a single bed. It was clean enough and very warm, though not immaculate by Four in a Bed standards. The beds were noisy and creaky, but we still slept like logs both nights. Some people might find the decor dated; I thought it gave the hotel character. There was a strong smell of smoke in the corridor outside our room. The breakfast and evening meal were lovely. I'm vegan, and Michelle in the restaurant went above and beyond to help with food options. She was a real credit to the hotel. We'd definitely stay again. We knew the on-site car park was small and first come, first served, so arriving around 8pm, we didn't expect a space. We found a spot outside at the front. Parking there is free from 4pm until 10am, then I think it costs £2.50 for up to 3 hours or £3.50 for more than 3 hours.
