The Merrydale Guest House

The Merrydale was a great base for my three-night stay, with the town centre close by and the station about a ten-minute walk away. I was warmly greeted by the hosts, who let me check in early, which was a nice surprise. My room was on the small side but cosy, clean and had everything I needed. The rest of the B&B was clean too. I slept comfortably, the Wi-Fi was very fast, and I loved the rainfall shower in the en-suite. Breakfast was very nice, though I only had it once because it was a little too expensive for me to have all three mornings. The curtains let in quite a lot of outside light, and I could hear guests in other rooms talking, so the soundproofing could be better. Aside from that, I had a really pleasant stay and would gladly return.

We had a great birthday stay at Merrydale Guest House and would happily return. Its central location put shops, restaurants and local attractions within easy walking distance, yet it was still quiet and restful. The owners were warm, helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our ground-floor Double Room with Private Terrace was spacious, beautifully decorated and spotless. The huge bed was very comfortable, and the modern en-suite shower and toilet gave us the privacy and comfort we appreciated. There were useful touches throughout, including bedside lamps, plenty of sockets and USB charging ports built into them. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and nicely presented, with plenty of options for different tastes and appetites. We were glad we chose it. I’d only suggest adding comfortable furniture to the terrace and a few soft lights in the front garden for the evenings. The clean, well-equipped room, lovely hosts and handy location made this a memorable visit to Llandudno, whether for a special occasion or a relaxing break.

Breakfast was spot on, and the hosts handled my good lady’s allergy requirements without any trouble. Brian and his wife made us feel welcome from the time we arrived until we left. We’d definitely go back. Well done to the hosts.
