On the sixth day of my fourteen day hike along 'Offas Dyke', I stayed at 'The Golden Lion'. The hosts were a very friendly couple, and my en suite room was comfortable. They served an excellent home cooked evening meal with some classic rock and progressive music, which was hard to beat. An early breakfast was no problem, and there's a convenience store just a few hundred metres away. I can highly recommend it.

The rooms were lovely and spacious, and both dinner and breakfast were amazing. The hotel sits right on Offa's dyke path, which made the location great for our walk two years ago. Our arrival was less comfortable: we got there an hour before opening after walking from Montgomery with backpacks in poor weather, and could have used a rest. We asked about checking in early or waiting in the bar. That wasn't really possible, though the hosts eventually let us into our rooms and told us to stay there until opening. It didn't feel very welcoming at first, but once the hotel opened, we had a great time. If you're walking Offa's dyke path, I'd still recommend staying here, just arrive after opening time. Take your time and find a nice pub along the way for a good dinner here.

Karen and Rob made us feel so welcome and comfortable, and were genuinely kind throughout. We had a wonderful stay at Ty Llew with our son and his friend, who were taking part in a nearby downhill race. The beds were super comfortable and the evening meals were fabulous. Thanks to you both for making it such an enjoyable stay.

The rooms were clean and the beds were good, and the hosts were so kind and always ready to help. It's basic accommodation, but the homemade food was plentiful and well cooked, with an amazing menu for such a small hotel. Breakfast was first rate, and it was great value for money.

Karen and Rob gave us a lovely welcome, and the rooms were very clean and tidy with a comfortable bed. We had a really enjoyable stay at this pleasant hotel. The food was exceptional, especially the evening meals when we had a starter and main.
