Stradey Park Hotel

We’ll absolutely stay here again. The beds were comfortable, the decor was beautiful, the view was fab, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was really good too. My relative’s accessible room was very good, and the shower room was laid out well. We’ll plan to try dinner in the hotel restaurant next time. It was off-season, but the price still seemed very reasonable, less than it probably should have been.

I hope the business can reopen, because the staff deserve much better than losing their income because of poor management. When we were there, it had to close suddenly after the business went into administration. The staff were in shock, but stayed completely professional and went out of their way to help us find another hotel. The rooms were clean and pristine, and the chef’s menu was great, with excellent food. Richard in the bar made the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. If you know him, please pass that on. The team were excellent.

The hotel had closed without notice, and locals were understandably upset. I’d booked through booking.com and only found out when I arrived that it had shut three or four days earlier. I’m now having to fight for a refund. Contact the booking agents before you travel.

The kitchen was happy to accommodate dietary requirements, and the staff were helpful and efficient. We visited Stradey Park Hotel for a Christmas carvery, and there was lots of wonderful food. The cheesecake was the best I’ve had in a while. I’ll go again.
