Dunes

The views are amazing, and the house had pretty much everything we needed. But it’s tired and needs some care, and we found the owner unresponsive. We arrived to find no electricity and a freezer that had defrosted, leaving water all over the kitchen. We were worried we might have to find somewhere else to stay. There was no information pack or contact number to call. We had to go through the lovely automated AI system to try to reach a person for help. We also messaged Sykes several times before Christmas to ask whether there would be decorations, as we would have brought our own if needed, but got no reply. We decided, because it was Christmas, to hope for some twinkle, but there were no decorations at all. Some doors looked as if previous visitors had used them as punch bags. Outside, there was broken furniture and charcoal scattered everywhere. We couldn’t understand why there was no broom or good hoover to tidy up, or why the owner hadn’t checked the property, answered our questions or apologised for us having to clean at the start of our stay. It’s a wonderful location if you like the sound of jets and being next to the beach, but don’t expect a response from the owner or Sykes. We’re still waiting. If you go, you’re on your own.
