Black Mountain BreakAway

The huts have been put together with so much care. The wood, furniture, switches, and tools all fit the adventure and glamping feel. There are two huts joined by a little deck: one has the king-size (?) bed, two chairs, and an oven; the other has the kitchen, sitting area, and bathroom. Lighting is electric, but there are no sockets for charging or shaving. Cooking and hot water both use gas, and Bridget brings fresh ice blocks for the fridge each morning. The dry toilet is in its own hut a few steps away. Outside, there’s a fire pit and another sitting spot by a small river, down a path through the ferns. We stayed at The Black Mountain Break Away for six nights, using it as a base and a real hideaway. It’s surrounded by a maze of tiny roads, and internet coverage around there isn’t great, so offline maps are a good idea for getting there and back. We loved the quiet and the dark nights with a clear view of the sky. Thanks, Bridget and Tim. We hope to return sometime and will recommend the place to friends and family.
