cwt blawd is tucked into a corner of the courtyard, a pretty little cottage that feels warm and welcoming. I was travelling on foot, and gwyn guided me to where I needed to go, so friendly and helpful. Walking in was an instant wow. The high ceilings are stunning, everything was so clean and smart, and gwyn and the excellent, friendly Toni had left Welsh cakes and a bottle of wine on the table. They both made plenty of time for me. The kitchen was very well equipped, as was the whole place, and upstairs there's a spacious bedroom with lots of storage. I loved staying at cwt blawd and look forward to visiting again. Thank you, gwyn and Toni, for such a treasure of a stay.

I didn't stay at Hen Stabl, so can't give it five stars. I was in Beudy Bach next door, in the same complex but a different cottage. It was lovely accommodation in a peaceful setting overlooking the Menai waters.

We stayed as a couple, so the converted old cow shed was far bigger than we needed, but it gave us loads of room to spread out. It's part of a small group of similar buildings, with parking for 2 vehicles and enough space to sleep 6. The farm was clean and quiet. We heard horses being walked, then kicking excitedly at the stable door while breakfast was being prepared. The friendly owner came over to greet us and chat. When we talked about walking through the old deer park to see the Dovecote and the Priory, he said, "just keep turning left and you won't get lost". It's a great base for walking around the area, and we hope to return to explore more.
