The menu was a little limited, which took away from an otherwise great stay. The staff were excellent and very helpful, and the hotel is right in the centre of Llanrwst. Our airy room had high ceilings and a very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was a good size, with a walk in shower.

The hot breakfast was excellent, and breakfast overall was good, though the juice and cereal choices could be better. The Indian family running the nice hotel tried to accommodate us as best they could. What disappointed us was having to ask for the room to be tidied, with fresh towels and toiletries, and nobody told us this was needed. We got back late before a booked event and found nothing had been refreshed. For the price, it didn’t feel like good value: we had a room and breakfast, just one replacement towel and four milk cartons. At nearly 11 pm we were also trying to find someone to get toilet paper.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was really good. We also had a very tasty evening meal, with the best lasagne and side salad I’ve had in a while. We stayed at The Eagles for a couple of days while visiting family in Llanrwst, and our room was fresh and clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The outside of this historic building is beautiful, and there was free parking, internet and breakfast. The staff were friendly, and the cooked breakfast was nice. Inside, though, it felt like a rough pub. The bar was used as the breakfast room, and the dirty glasses from the night before were still there. The internet was slow, and there was no desk or chair, which I needed for business. The room I received was shabby and grubby, with broken, dirty windows, dust everywhere, a dirty towel, a dirty shower head and cubicle, peeling wallpaper and sloppy decoration. It looked much closer to one star than three, especially compared with the luxurious-looking room I booked in the first photo. I paid £80, but it felt worth about £50. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The bar and food were good, and I had some good banter with the barman. The people running the hotel clearly cared about customer service and were very focused on guests. Rooms were clean, nice and well set up, with several layouts to suit different groups and families. Just be aware that the stairs to the higher rooms are steep.
