The children were happy running around the house playing tag and hide-and-seek, and there’s a huge outdoor area with a playground for them too. We were 11 people and had plenty of room, with two living rooms, three bathrooms, a big porch, a log burner and a full kitchen with everything we needed to cook, including a large fridge-freezer. Storage was short in a couple of bedrooms, but we managed.

Cottage 3 is a great base for walks straight from the door or drives out, though it feels remote and peaceful. The old cottage had everything I could want. We also enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and good food at The white lion in Cerrigydrudion. For a walk, I recommend the 7-mile route around llyn Alwen Reservoir.

We had a lovely getaway with friends in a secluded place, and really enjoyed our stay.

Pauline, the owner, was so kind and helpful, and we loved our little cottage. It’s peaceful and has everything you need. We were even allowed to bring our little house cat! The cottage sits at the bottom of a narrow farm road, so take it slowly and carefully on the way to and from the main road. Along the way, it’s lovely to see the sheep, lambs, cows and squirrels. We’d definitely come back.

We’ve booked this place several times and love how quiet and remote it is, with lovely views and no busy roads. It’s an off-track property on a non-working farm, and on my last visit I saw lots of sheep and lambs. There’s a nice garden and a little walk just 10 seconds away. Would definitely recommend, and we’ll be back.
