Cheviot

We had a great time exploring the area, including Oswestry, Chirk Castle, Llangollen, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Pistyl Rhaeder Waterfalls. There’s a lovely hill walk right from the door, though the setting is very rural and the roads are mostly single track. The hosts were really friendly and happy to share directions and suggestions. The renovated barn had plenty of room for our three generations, with generous bedrooms and lots of space to spend time together. All the bedrooms have their own bathrooms, too. It stayed warm and cosy even in the blustery early spring weather, and had everything we needed for a long weekend.

A relaxing place to stay in a lovely location, with all the modern amenities you need. There’s plenty to do nearby, and Oswestry is only a short drive away if you need to pick something up. Highly recommend it.

The old pig sty has been turned into a fantastic place, with its original beams and lovely features still there. Everything was well equipped and very clean. The kids were happy to have a room and bathroom of their own, and the garden was enclosed so the dog could wander around freely. Mum was pleased that the hot tub was ready when we arrived. We’ll try out the BBQ later!

We went with friends, who stayed in the other property, and that arrangement worked really well. Ours was a lovely, quiet place, dog friendly, with an on-site mountain and hot tub. There are lots of walking trails nearby, so an OS map is handy, along with waterfalls and other activities. Bring your shopping with you since the place is out of the way, though there’s a decent-sized M&S food hall about 20 minutes away. We had an excellent stay!
