The setting alone makes you want to come back, with wooded walks, rolling hills and Pen-y-Fan close by. My family and I stayed at Gilfach Farm in August, and Sarah and Mike made us feel so welcome. The accommodation was tidy, warm and clean, and the showers were properly hot. We also spent an evening in the BBQ hut, which was lovely. We’ll definitely return.

We stayed in the Log Cabin for a weekend and it felt cosy and private, with Mike and Sarah making us feel right at home. The farm is tucked among trees and hills with stunning views, and once you drive up the quiet lane and new tarmac drive, it feels miles away from anywhere. Getting there is easy, just off the A40, and it’s a handy base for exploring nearby. Hope we can come back soon.

That indoor BBQ you can book was a brilliant experience. My wife and I had a great time in the Shephards Hut, which was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. The countryside setting and views are fantastic too, and the hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Barn Cottage was a comfortable, warm place to stay at Gilfach Farm, with all the facilities and bits you need for a self-catering holiday. There are good places to eat nearby. Highly recommended.

The patio looked out across a spectacular valley, frost sparkling in the sunshine, and little bluetits and sparrows hopped onto our windowsill to watch us. At night we could lie in bed and see the stars through the Velux windows, as this is a “dark sky area.” Sarah and Mike, thanks for a lovely break in Barn Cottage. It stayed cosy and warm despite the frost outside, and was clean with lots of little extras to make us feel welcome. We’ll be back!
