The staff were friendly, and everything looked really clean. I was only there for a quick lunch, so I can’t say anything about the rooms or staying at the Inn. The sandwiches were very good, made with fresh ingredients and really good bread. The cakes were delicious too, and the service was quick and excellent.

Meals are the real draw here: the food is great and arrives quickly. It’s usually quiet, with only around 2-5 people there at a time. Parking is a bit unusual, more or less just park wherever you like. I wrote a longer review on TripAdvisor, but that’s the gist.

Connor And Kieran were the highlight of our six-night stay. They seemed fairly new to the place, but you’d never have guessed it. They were easy and comfortable to be around, and we felt well looked after. They more than made up for the things that fell short. Good work, you two, 10/10! If Carlsberg did hospitality, it would be called Connor and Kieran. The room was clean, the beds were comfy, and the complimentary soap and other toiletries were great quality. Breakfast was okay, though no beans or brown sauce was disappointing. For three days, the mushrooms had a really odd, almost floral taste. I think my constant moaning eventually got them replaced, and the fresh ones were perfect. We’d also been looking forward to Scottish square sausage, but got a very anaemic standard sausage every day instead. We only ate at the Inn one evening because the menu was boring and the choice so limited that we ate out the rest of the time. The food we did have was great, but going elsewhere must have cost the place at least £650 in takings alone. With the coastline and great produce nearby, we were also surprised there was no seafood apart from mussels. One other thing, why are there picture hooks everywhere but no pictures? It looks odd. Without the staff, our stay would have been mediocre. Because of them, it turned into one of the best stays we’ve had anywhere.

We came with family and friends for Sunday roast, and the food was delicious. The Inn felt friendly and welcoming, and the excellent staff rounded off a lovely day. Thanks so much.

The carrot cake with rhubarb sorbet at the Lochailort Inn was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The beer was spot on too, and the staff were lovely and so welcoming to dogs. They should put that on a sign or the website! We’ll be back next year. Keep up the great work in the meantime, folks 🙂
