The single line here covers a surprisingly long distance, and the station is simple but does the job well. There’s a lift for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and staff are often around.

Getting to the street is straightforward, and the place was consistently clean. The station has a modern look, with long platforms for the trains and up-to-date lifts and stairs. It worked well for both arriving and leaving.

The ticket hall is small, and you need to use the correct barriers because they only lead to one platform. The layout blocks access to the other side once you’ve passed through. Imperial Wharf Station has London Overground trains towards Stratford, as well as Southern services towards Clapham Junction and Watford Junction Stations. Both platforms have disabled access by lift, though the spiral stairs have a few steps. The banister on those stairs could be covered more, since it seems easy to jump over it. The station was clean. There’s not much shelter on the raised platforms, though, and they’re always cold.

The stops are tidy and clean, and the area is lovely. The Milten Keynes train that passes through is the shortest link between Balham and Shepherds Bush. It’s only a few minutes from Clapham Junnstion with the overflow. I recommend it, five stars!
