I made some good friends during my 14 months at New Mansion House, and it helped me become more social, especially when I was going through a low point. The staff and volunteers were friendly, understanding about our personal situations, and did their best to meet our needs. Ahmad was especially cheerful, caring, and thoughtful with me and everyone around him. I also want to recognize Ahmad, Eva, Benito, Hosam, Manish, MJ, Rosella, and Lenny for all the hard work they put into running the place. I wish Lenny and New Mansion well.

The location is great, the food's delicious, and the place is really clean. Reception staff are always cheerful and helpful too. Great option if you're trying to keep costs down. I'd book again ;v

It's a quiet, peaceful place, and the atmosphere is the best I've come across in the four LHA hostels I've visited. The rent includes two meals a day, and it's a nice hostel, though it isn't self-catering. I've also stayed at Halpin House, Belvedere House, and Railton House.

Guests seem to come last here. The place is chaotic, with volunteers effectively running things and disruptions happening constantly as part of daily life. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

After I arrived early, I waited at reception to check in. The receptionist took my photo ID, then said they couldn't find my booking and were fully booked. She asked which company I'd booked through, and after looking at my ID seemed a bit sarcastic when she realized I was British. They sent me halfway across London to another of their properties, with very little apology or compensation offered. There are also many residents here who aren't British and are treated with the most respect. Interesting, isn't it? Another thumbs down for London. I won't stay here again.
