47 Park Street - Grand Residences by Marriott

We arranged a stay here last week for staff who were working nearby. The rate was great, the property was furnished to a high standard, and it was clean throughout. Communication was good too. We’d be happy to stay here again.

This place was very, very average for the price. During our stay they called and pressured us to buy a room in the property for time sharing. They advertised all kinds of services, including 24 hour general services, but didn’t actually provide them. When staff wouldn’t fulfill advertised services, they also refused to refer the issue to a superior. We stayed 11 nights and made very few requests, yet they wouldn’t bring food deliveries to our room. I’ll never stay again, and strongly suggest picking one of the hundreds of other nearby options.

We spent 12 days in London, my wife, son, and me, and this was an amazing base, especially for families or a longer visit. Having both a kitchen and room service made life easier, particularly keeping my teenage son fed. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and it was great to stretch out in the living room after day trips instead of being stuck in a cramped hotel room. The location suits an upscale, quiet stay, but you’re still close to everything. Hyde Park is great for a walk, and there are lovely neighbourhoods nearby with good shopping and excellent restaurants. Staff were consistently warm, friendly, smiling, professional, and helpful. I expect we’ll come back. I can’t think of anything I’d change.

There were protesters outside morning and night during my stay, shouting something about Chickens in Cages. I don’t want to pay £850 pounds a night and have my sleep disturbed by grubby activists who care about chickens. Marriott, sort out your house.
