The flat's one real advantage is its location, with groceries and the train station easy to reach. We only took it because we had no other option, and the stay was terrible. Property management was awful, and random people calling the flat made it feel unsafe. Smoke alarms went off often enough to stop the lifts, so we had to take the stairs many times. They wouldn't let us switch to fiber internet, leaving us stuck with a really poor default connection. Getting permission to park took ages too. The heater and boiler broke at the start of the cold season, and it took 18 days to fix them. I don't understand the hefty rent without proper support. If you have another choice, avoid Trident House.

It's a shame, because the apartment and its location are nice, but GEM's management has badly damaged the experience of living here and affects a big part of residents' everyday lives. My bike was stolen, and the broken back gate let anyone into the building to sleep there. The fire alarm goes off constantly, affecting the lift and kitchen. I couldn't cook for weeks. The bin area was locked, but not every resident got a key. The list goes on. Management is quick to punish and slow, or sometimes never, to help. They ask us to email requests but seldom reply. After I followed up by phone, Molly Cooper, one of my property managers during their rapid staff turnover, said she'd checked the email but was too busy to act. This could take weeks, or she'd never reply at all. It's hard to know what she's busy with, but her promises to call back or take action don't come true.
