The location worked well, with direct links into central London and plenty of takeaway choices for an easy meal in. It is on a rougher, deprived part of the outskirts, though. The room was mostly clean and looked recently revamped, with fresh bedding, but there was an old water bottle in plain view under the fridge. The bed was small, uncomfortable and squeaky, with a cheap metal frame that flexed. The pillows were so soft I needed three. The TV was tiny and both WiFi connections were painfully slow. The bathroom was minging, with black marks down the toilet, lots of dirt in the shower, and a worn floor. They'd forgotten towels, so we had to ask, and what we got were hand towels rather than bath towels. The room was roasting no matter what we tried, and the broken window wouldn't stay up, so we propped it open with a bottle. They mostly left us to enjoy the trip, but once they brought in breakfast and drinks for the next day while my partner and I were naked after showering, despite our do not disturb sign being up. Pretty embarrassing. On our way out one night, it was unpleasant to see workers smoking at the door, one of them using weed too, and the smell reached the hallway. The room key being exactly the same as the front door key didn't make us feel safe either. For a place to sleep after a night out or a busy weekend, it does the job: it's warm, cozy, fresh, and has a bed. But with rooms this hot and bathrooms this dirty, it isn't a good pick for a relaxing lazy weekend.
