The location is actually very good, with a Sainsbury's across the street and a subway station three minutes away on foot. The apartments look good, but they’re poorly maintained. Mine was incredibly hot in summer, though it might be cozy in winter. There’s a dishwasher, but no soap. Are guests supposed to bring their own, or buy a month’s worth at Sainsbury's? You have to check in at another hotel in Kensington, then wait for a free taxi to take you to the apartment. The driver can take over an hour to become available. With a little effort from the owners this could be a wonderful place, but I guess mediocre is fine as long as the business pays. Business is business.

We had a very good stay, though quite a few things need attention. The shower and bath had very weak water pressure, and the entrance to the building and the area around it were full of trash. The apartment could have been cleaner too, and there wasn’t a broom or any cleaning supplies. The mattresses were really uncomfortable, with the springs digging into us.

You can’t beat the location, but the cleanliness was seriously lacking and it was very hot. The terraces connect to neighboring apartments, and the fire alarm goes off as soon as you start cooking.

There’s a lot to be desired in both the upkeep and the cleanliness. In December, the balcony door broke and wouldn’t close.
