Assembly Leicester Square

The central location was a real plus, and breakfast was decent with a great panoramic view. Our room was clean, but it didn't match what I expected from the website. The window looked out onto a poor view, and the bathroom was very cold. The double bed was small, and there was no chair, desk, kettle, coffee machine, or fridge. There isn't a proper reception desk either, though friendly staff are tucked behind a wall. At checkout, we had to pay to leave our bags, and they weren't even kept in a secure room. Other hotels offer that for free with secure storage. Next time I'd rather spend more on somewhere better. This place feels more like a youth hostel.

The room was pitch black at night, so I slept well, and it was surprisingly quiet. There were no windows, though, which felt a bit strange since I like daylight and fresh air. Check-in was easy, with self-service for making the room key and no regular service staff around. In the morning, a man took my key and made checkout quicker than using the online booking. The location is fabulous, and breakfast is optional.

The rooftop restaurant and the view were fantastic, and the bed was comfortable. The location was amazing too. The room was on the small side, with no TV or fridge, and the AC kept switching on and off. I could also hear the elevator day and night.

I stayed during the first week of December, and these photos are from our larger room on the 8th floor. I'd recommend paying extra for the space. The room was clean, with daily service for fresh towels, emptying the rubbish, and making the bed. It also had blackout curtains. The location is amazing, and there's always a staff member watching the front door, 24/7. I'd happily stay here again.
