It gets really crowded, so I’d suggest coming early. There’s a wide choice of great food vendors, and everything we tried was tasty and served quickly. Most of the fresh food stalls offered samples too. You can pick up cheese, drinks, sweets, fresh seafood, meat, fruit, and vegetables.

It’s a tourist trap, but the enjoyable kind, with all sorts of food to choose from. We tried the popular chocolate-covered strawberries from Turnip, plus samosa chaat and bhel puri from Horn OK Please. It can get packed, so go earlier in the day if you can.

If you’re after great value or standout food, Borough Market may disappoint. Many familiar street-food options, from fish and chips and paella to burgers, were decent enough, but a lot seemed overpriced. You’re paying for the location and the buzz as much as what’s on your plate. The chocolate-covered strawberries were definitely pricey, though genuinely delicious and one of our most satisfying treats. Expect crowds, noise, and long queues at many popular stalls, especially on weekends. Space is tight, the lines overlap, and it’s easy to get jostled, so watch where you’re going. The place is famous and very touristy, with a lively energy that can feel overwhelming. There’s plenty of variety, and it’s worth a visit at least once for the atmosphere and range of food. Just be prepared for a busy, expensive experience.

The covered market itself is attractive, and the surrounding area has lots of historic buildings, signs, and other artifacts. We visited on an otherwise dull weekday afternoon and were surprised by how packed it was. There were queues everywhere, people eating on their feet and others waiting. It was crazy busy, even though most stalls were serving food from all over the world. I’d recommend visiting around lunchtime so you can sample world food.

Brick Lane is right around the corner, but Borough Market was the real highlight of my London visit. It’s close to London Bridge and easy to fit into a day of sightseeing. I loved wandering around, taking photos and sampling so many different things in one place. There were fresh juices, seafood, vegetarian options, desserts and all kinds of international street food, alongside bakery treats, chocolate, coffee and local specialties. The stalls looked good quality, and there was something interesting at every turn. It was busy, which gave the place a fun, energetic feel. A memorable spot for enjoying London’s food and atmosphere, with loads of choice for families, travelers and food lovers.
