I've been staying here for two months, and the experience has been awful. I've even had to sleep on the streets of London, which I think offers a better standard of living than this place. The people here have been unbelievably rude. The cleanliness is disgusting. I've got picture after picture showing the state of the hotel, and the dining area is the worst. It doesn't look like the advertised photos at all, so it creates a false expectation. The food is just as bad, and it's kept in a dirty fridge even though they say they clean it. I'd hate to see someone bring a child here. The night receptionist keeps leaving the desk. Each time, I've been locked outside for 10-20 minutes. Guests aren't allowed to keep their room key, and there isn't a 24-hour reception to let you in. The receptionist also seems to have no idea what he's doing.

The bed was comfortable, and the area was quiet enough that I slept well. The room was small but had a double bed, though there wasn't enough space to open the bathroom door all the way. I was on the lower ground floor. The bathroom was usable, but the shower pressure was basically nonexistent, so I'll bring my own shower gel and shampoo next time. Still, the location is good and I'd stay here again for a short London trip.

Just a short walk from Paddington station, so this works well for a night or a brief visit, especially for the price. My room was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom needed attention: the basin was cracked and the drain smelled bad. It's handy and affordable, though not one of London's more ornate hotels.

Being close to Paddington station is handy, but I was very disappointed with what I got for the money. I had prepaid for two rooms on separate dates, and the reservations couldn't be refunded if I cancelled. The pictures were misleading, with very narrow hallways and a lift that only fits two people at most. Both the bedroom and hallway carpets were filthy, and the bathrooms smelled like sewers. The mattresses were so uncomfortable I could feel the springs against my back. There were no mattress covers, just one cheap sheet, and I felt scorned sleeping on the bed. The showers were tiny, though the water was hot. Windows had no locks, and housekeeping left them open after cleaning. I wouldn't stay again.

The top floor was very quiet, but getting there meant tackling a maze of stairs, since there's no lift to that floor. If stairs are an issue, mention it when booking. Up there, the Wi-Fi barely worked, the water pressure was low, and the bathroom had no heating, so mornings were cold. Breakfast cost £5 per person. The rooms are very basic, as you'd expect for the low price, and it's not a designer hotel with fancy decor.
