The street was quiet, and we got some much-needed rest. We were only there for one night on our way home, but the water problem could be concerning on a longer stay. We’re a family of four and wanted to freshen up before dinner, but the hot water ran out and at one point there was no water at all. We could hear it trying to come back. My husband didn’t want to call reception, so we waited about 30 minutes, and then the water started running again. The location is amazing, with great shopping and dining nearby, a rail station close by, and Hyde Park within walking distance. When we arrived, the reception staff greeted us right away and took us to our room, 25A. There was no laundry soap, but that wasn’t a big deal, so we bought some around the corner.

The apartment had a nice-sized lounge and a good kitchen with a full-size fridge. Its location was perfect: two grocery stores around the corner, Harrods across the street, and convenient bus stops. The view was just the backs of buildings, though. Deliveries to the retail stores behind the apartment started at 5am, and other guests were extremely loud in the marble-floored lobby on Montpelier Mews. The front desk didn’t show us how to use the washer-dryer or the shower-only setting, which matters for visitors from outside the EU. The floors creak loudly too, and I can’t imagine staying downstairs and listening to people walk around. Older guests or anyone unsteady should also take care getting in and out of the tub.

We spent a week in a townhouse and would definitely return. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, there was a personal laundry room, and the beds and linens were comfortable. Ani and Maria were lovely housekeepers and kept the place absolutely spotless. Great location too.

The staff were lovely, and Ana deserves a special thanks for her extra-warm manner and great cleaning. The flat was clean and cozy, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home, including milk in the fridge, cookies, nice toiletries, and the heating already on. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we had a lovely stay.
