The room was spotless, comfortable, and neatly kept, with a cosy feel that made it easy to unwind after a long day. Housekeeping clearly maintains high standards. The hotel also had a calm, inviting atmosphere. Staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive from the start. Check-in was smooth, and they were always ready to help throughout my stay. Service was professional, efficient, and friendly. I had a wonderful stay at Church Street Hotel and would happily return. I'd recommend Church Street Hotel to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable place with welcoming staff and great service.
The second room was so grim that I left a night early and moved elsewhere. That added stress and wasted money, which was the last thing I needed during an already difficult time. I hate leaving a bad review, but the level of uncleanliness was unacceptable. I booked in an emergency because my partner had been rushed to a nearby hospital, and being close was the main thing I cared about. The first night, the room was okay, not nice or good, but it was enough in the circumstances. I then booked a few more nights, but had to change rooms. The second one was horrible, really dirty and uncomfortable, and made a very stressful situation much worse. I was willing to accept a place that was a bit subpar because it was cheap enough, though still not worth the price, and within walking distance of the hospital. I was too stressed to care much at first.
Getting around London was easy from here, with public transport and key attractions close by. I stayed a few days and found the room clean and comfortable, a good place to unwind after being out. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, from check-in to check-out. Good value for money.
A practical, good-value place for London, and the 176 bus goes straight to Leicester square and Tottenham court road. It’s not on the tube, though. The rooms are cheap, the linen was fresh and clean, and you get what you booked. I also liked the l'occitain shampoo and soap. The building is near a busy road, but the traffic didn’t bother me. Entry is automated, which suited my late arrival after a change of plans, but you need to sign up on Whatsapp and get the codes beforehand. The bar still shown on the website has closed under the new management; I didn’t need it, so that wasn’t an issue. The Mexican theme remains and looks good, though it could use a little TLC. Tea and coffee are in the restaurant area, not the rooms. Breakfast is sparse, but there are plenty of nearby options. I suspect it was even better with the previous management.
We stayed from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th May 2026, and the breakfast was abject: six slices of bread, ham, and warm hard-boiled eggs on Saturday, followed by the exact same food the next day. By then the bread was stale and curly. There were porridge oats, but no way to heat milk unless you fancied using the electric kettle. I can’t believe this building passes fire safety regulations. For the amount charged, the quality was very poor. We didn’t see a single staff member during our stay. The shower door wouldn’t close, the drain was blocked with hair, and the shower head leaked badly. We found prescription anti-depressants and other prescription medicines in the bedroom table drawer, presumably left by a previous guest. The bed’s under-sheet didn’t fit. Our air conditioning wasn’t working, so we had to keep the window open and put up with street noise and other air conditioning units all night.
