Clayton Hotel Chiswick

Breakfast was a lovely start to the day, with a good British and continental buffet, and the omelette I ordered was nicely done. We also made good use of the library room for our board meeting. It was a little small but well organised, and the outdoor seating worked well for breakout groups. Quite a few of us stayed overnight for the board retreat. My room was spacious, with a bath and shower, a table and somewhere to sit. In the evening, we gathered at the bar, where there were enough tables and chairs without crowding other guests. Drinks came quickly and staff were responsive; cocktails took a bit longer, though it wasn't too bad. I'd definitely recommend it.

The buffet breakfast was a treat, with everything from a full English to fruit, pastries and porridge. Our room was very clean and had a huge bathroom with a bath and separate shower, plus a big, very comfortable bed. There were tea and coffee facilities, but no fridge or minibar, so bear that in mind. We were in Chiswick for a family wedding and really enjoyed our two nights at The Clayton Hotel. The staff we spoke with were all lovely and helpful, and the reception areas felt classy, with a lovely smell too. Some of the upstairs decor looked a little tired, but it was spotless. For a London hotel, the price seemed very reasonable, and we'd happily return.

The gym had some good equipment, but it felt far too small for a hotel this size. By 07:00 each morning it was full, with no room for anyone else. There were no laundry facilities either, which was another problem. The hotel worked for the purpose of our visit, but the quality didn't quite justify the price. Our room had no cooling, and not being able to open the windows made that harder. We could hear everything in the corridor, even ordinary conversations. Next time I'm in London, I'll look for somewhere else.

The staff were all really friendly, and breakfast was lovely. We loved the room too, it was fabulous and had plenty of space. Even with 33c heat outside, the air conditioning kept the temperature just right indoors. Thanks for making our two-night stay memorable.
