I left a day early after raising the bed bug problem and the poor state of the place on day three. I’d already been bitten several times. The hotel was dirty, there was a nasty smell much of the time, and mosquitoes were a problem in the area. A basic air freshener and daily cleaning might have helped. There was just one cleaner, and she was rarely around.

The atmosphere felt disturbing and inappropriate, and I didn’t feel safe there. Some people’s behavior made the place feel morally questionable, and management seemed to have little control or supervision. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you care about safety, comfort, or basic respect. I’d urge people to avoid it.

I got out immediately and booked another room. The place was filthy, the sheets were dirty, and I found baby bed bugs on the bed. The heating didn’t work and the window let in a draft. After 10pm there was nobody at reception, and my calls and texts went unanswered. I haven’t been able to reach them since to complain or get a refund. Appalling.

The location was the one good thing. The room was incredibly dirty, with a floor that clearly hadn’t been swept or mopped, grime on the shower mirror, and cracked floor tiles that could cut your foot if you weren’t wearing shoes. The old beds were uncomfortable too. It was recently very cold, but the heating didn’t work, and a draft came through the window. With zero degrees outside, we couldn’t stay warm without sleeping in all our clothes. I’d never recommend this place. Spend the extra £50 or more somewhere else. This is a one-star hotel, not three-star.

The room was only okay, but fine for a short stay. The area was really quiet, and the reception staff were very nice.
