The apartment was filthy and worn-looking, with stains all over the floor and blinds. Cold air came in through the windows, and so did every bit of street noise. The heating didn’t work either. This was the most disappointing stay I’ve had. Avoid at all costs.

I came away out of pocket for both the trip and the activities I missed after heading home a day early. The flat was filthy, despite a £50 cleaning fee, and there were pubic hairs on the pillows. From the 10th floor I could hear local drunks singing all night through the uninsulated windows. There was no Wi-Fi, the TV aerial wasn’t connected to anything, the door didn’t lock properly, and electric cables were everywhere. The microwave was faulty, with a damaged, unsafe plug. The bed was broken, through no fault of mine, and nobody could move me, so I had nowhere to sleep. Someone finally came the next morning, agreed it wasn’t my fault, refunded the security deposit and said I could leave a day early with a full refund. I believed them, cancelled that day’s plans and went home. Then they denied ever promising a refund. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. London ExCeL Stays was simply awful. Don’t consider staying here. I didn’t feel safe, couldn’t sleep, and my short break was ruined.
