Dockside Apartments at Excel

The hotel was clean and spacious, but the rooms were poorly designed. There was no TV in the bedroom, and housekeeping only came once every three days. Fresh towels cost an extra 10 pounds a day. I stayed five days, and my towels and sheets weren't changed until day four, after I complained twice. For this price, I expected more. It was just very poorly managed, and I'd only use it as a last resort for travel.

I was moved here after originally booking the Ibis Styles. The apartment was roomy and clean, with good quality fittings and a nice bathroom. It looks over the London City Airport runway, but the noise was fairly minimal. Breakfast at the neighbouring Hilton was decent. Check-in was slow, and the lift system seemed designed by an evil genius.

The staff at Dockside apartment were caring and receptive when I visited, and Ade deserves a special mention for going the extra mile with clients and visitors. There was an elevator problem, so staff had to run up 11 floors to reset it and bring it down. That must have been a struggle in the heat we've been having. Seeing staff show compassion makes a positive difference to clients during a difficult time. Good work. It seems the currently dockside are providing a valuable service.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the apartment had all the amenities I needed. It was stylish, cosy and super clean, with a nice big TV that could be moved around. Parking outside costs extra, but it's worth it and very convenient. I had a very pleasant stay and will definitely come back to Dockside Apartments. Thank you!
