It was very hot in the apartment, and there was no air conditioning. They gave me a little table fan, but it barely helped. The bathroom, kitchenette and lift spaces were all very tight. At similar prices, my stays in Canada, the US and UAE were better.

The tiny single room was nice enough, with a small bed, kitchenette, fridge and microwave, so the stay was okay on the whole. Cleaning was the real problem. Sheets were changed every three nights, but they wouldn't make the beds, and I kept finding women's hair on the floor day after day. I swept it up myself, and they still didn't vacuum. On sheet-change day the cleaner told me to leave while I was eating. I waited outside in the cold for 20 minutes, then came back to find the sheets hadn't been changed. I complained. Only one man at reception was genuinely kind and attentive, the others didn't seem interested or happy to be there.

The location is brilliant, and the bed was comfortable. It was clean and had what you need, though the room wasn't cozy-small. There were no usual extras like a hairdryer, tea or instant coffee.

Some of the staff were friendly, which is why I'm not giving one star. The photos we saw didn't match what we found. The hotel had a strange smell, much worse in the lift and stairwell, though luckily our room itself was fine. The Wi-Fi was poor. The floor was carpet, not parquet as pictured, and it was extremely dirty. The bathroom with a bathtub was really small and dirty, and nothing seemed maintained. What looked like a wardrobe turned out to be the kitchenette.
