I’m at the West Brompton location, which is a lovely property in a good area. There’s a washing machine and a full kitchen, but Flying Butler has failed to sort out two major problems. First, the bed is two singles pushed together, not a double. The mattress piping sticks up so much that there’s a ridge down the middle and no way to spread out. To me, that makes it single-bed accommodation, whatever it’s called. Flying Butler offered a mattress topper, but it’s thinner than the duvet and didn’t help at all. Second, the fridge keeps switching from cold to warm. I’ve lost over £120 worth of food because of it, and Flying Butler has been useless at fixing it. To be fair, they offered alternative accommodation, but it’s much farther from my workplace, so staying put is the lesser evil. The main points remain that the bed is uncomfortable, the two singles are pushed together, and the fridge is useless.

This was one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. It was hard to believe I was in London. The apartment was very uncomfortable and clearly hadn’t been renovated for years. Everything felt old and cheap, from the carpets and table to the sofa, mattresses, and bedsheets. The ladies who came to clean were very nice, but their workload seemed completely unrealistic. I think the employees’ working conditions need a serious audit.

I’m really glad we tried this while bringing my children to London. The rooms were nice and clean, and West Brompton tube station is right next door, with food, bars, and local shops only a couple of minutes away. One morning, rubbish bags from an upstairs apartment blocked us in at the top of the cellar stairs. That was the only bad point, and apart from it, we were very pleased with our stay.

The surroundings were really pleasant.
