Friendship House - Hostel

For the price, it's a good, clean enough place to live in central London. The ensuite single or twin rooms are nice, with large shared kitchens. The bed is a bit narrow, but comfortable enough. My room was quiet because it was farther from the Tube tracks, though apparently you can hear the Tube from the other side of the building, but it's not too bad. Cleaning was once a week. Reception may not be open 24 hours, which might be awkward if you're checking in very late or leaving super early.

Emmanuel at reception was especially kind and helpful during my stay. The property was clean, comfortable and well located, making it a convenient place to stay. It was a smooth, pleasant visit to Friendship House.

The hallways were filthy, with discoloured carpets throughout the building that stank and made the whole place smell awful. I found it extremely unsafe that “staff” kept entering rooms without warning. They never sent notice by email or letter, and it was always men unlocking the door and walking straight in. I had to set up CCTV for my safety and to prevent theft. This is completely unacceptable.

Friendship House has a clean, spacious living room where you can invite friends over for a chat while keeping other residents in mind. The common areas are well maintained and feel welcoming. It's easy to socialize without disturbing anyone, which adds to the comfort and sense of community.
