I was meant to have time to get ready before my 6pm dinner in central London, but when I arrived at 4:15pm the cleaner was still there and nowhere near finished. I couldn't shower or change until she left at 5:15pm, and my reservation cancellation cost £50. I asked the host for a refund so I could leave and check in somewhere else, but they refused and offered half the price instead. I only stayed because they promised that refund, yet two weeks later I still hadn't heard anything. Booking.com told me they were refunding just 10%, £20. It pretty much ruined my evening. I thought check-in was late at 4pm when I booked, but expected I'd have enough time. I've attached pictures showing the cleaner still in the apartment when I arrived.

The bath wouldn't hold water, so it was empty again within minutes and I couldn't use it. The Wi-Fi signal was weak too, though it worked perfectly on the TV. Still, this is a lovely apartment in a great location. There's some street noise, but that's expected on a main road, and the bedroom has extra fitted windows to cut it down. Very good overall. I'd come back.

It's a really convenient spot with great facilities. Just be aware there's no elevator. Carrying a lot of luggage up to a fifth-floor room takes a toll.
