The only good thing was the location, about a 10-minute walk from King's Cross Station. The room wasn't particularly clean, and it was cold and noisy. Street lamps shone in because the curtains wouldn't close properly, and the bed and pillows were ridiculously uncomfortable. Noise from other rooms and outside carried on until the early hours. I eventually found earplugs in my bag and used them to get a few hours' sleep.

We were locked out in the middle of the night, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. We checked in, got our keys, and things seemed fine, if a little janky. We decided to stay optimistic and try it out. But when we came back at night, neither key worked. There was no staff around, and the hotel phone number didn't go through. We're two college girls, stranded outside in the middle of the night with all our belongings inside and no way to get help. After wandering the streets, we found and booked another hotel for the night. We returned in the morning and asked for a refund. He even tried the keys to prove us wrong, and they still didn't work. Instead of fixing anything or taking responsibility, he refused to give his name or refund us, and told us to email the hotel. We paid for a room we couldn't access, were left outside at 2AM, then dismissed when we asked for help and our money back. This goes beyond bad service. It's shocking and completely unacceptable for a hotel to lock paying guests out overnight with no support. Save yourself the stress, money and safety risk, stay somewhere else.

The location is good, and the room was clean when we arrived. I felt safe, and there were no bugs, so it's not the worst place. But the owner, I assume, was very rude, and the room was horribly cramped. The shower swung randomly between lava hot and freezing, with no way to control it. They didn't clean during our eight-day stay. The bed was as hard as the floor, and when we asked for a towel or blanket, staff gave us evil looks. I wouldn't choose to stay again if I had another option.

For a cheap one-night stay, this place had everything we needed for the price. The room and facilities were fine, and the front receptionist was friendly and easy to talk to. It's well located near transport, things to do, and some lovely local shops and cafes.

The room was comfortable and clean, and being in central London was handy. I arrived two hours before check-in, but the owner was kind and let me in straight away. The older receptionist was rather rude while explaining how to get in after midnight. At times he wasn't at reception, so you could end up locked out until he returned. You get what you pay for.
