The host was very friendly, showed us around and shared useful London tips, including information on the last trains and places further afield. The house was easy to find, close to shops and public transport, with the Elizabeth line nearby. There were several free parking spaces available at the weekend. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy, with a fan, travel adapter, water, tea and coffee. The shared bathroom was clean and well kept, stocked with shampoo and shower gel, and cleaned daily to a high standard. You can book a room with a private bathroom if you don’t want to wait. There’s also a kitchen with cereal and milk, and you can bring food, keep it in the fridge and cook. A great place for visiting London if you’re happy to stay a bit farther out, since central London is still easy to reach.

The owner was very kind and polite, and the place is close to the station and a supermarket. The kitchen has the essentials and the rooms and bathrooms were okay. The Wi-Fi worked very well. But it was dusty, and the microwave was really dirty. The website photos also looked very different from the actual place. There are quiet hours from 11 pm to 7 am. We showered at 7 am, but on both days the neighbour banged hard on the wall and yelled bad words at us. We tried to understand why, but it happened each time we were in the shower.

Jing was thoughtful and provided great hospitality. The room was clean and nicely presented, and there were lots of helpful extras: free use of the washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, hair dryer and iron and ironing board. Breakfast was optionally available at no charge, and mineral water and tea were provided in the room. All of that went above and beyond.

The landlady is helpful and always cleaning, and this was one of the cleanest places I’ve stayed in London. It’s a peaceful spot if you want some quiet. The only downside is that it’s a bit far from central London.

The host was lovely and very flexible about what guests need, and our room was cosy. It’s shared accommodation, so you do need to be comfortable with that setup, but everyone respected each other’s privacy and that was fine. The station is about a five-minute walk away, and the train from Abbey Wood takes around 30 minutes to central London. Being further out let us experience the area a bit like locals, which we really enjoyed. It was also one of the cheapest places around. Highly recommended if you’re visiting and want neighbourhood living instead of a fancy hotel.
