Grove Heights Notting Hill

We stayed at Grove Heights in Notting Hill for a city break with a friend, and the apartment was clean, cosy, and beautifully looked after. It matched the description, maybe even better, and felt welcoming as soon as we arrived. Cafés, shops, and transport were close by, so exploring was easy. The host kept communication clear and prompt, helped with our requests, and made sure we had what we needed. We had a lovely stay and would happily return.

Hyde Park, the Underground, and several good restaurants were only a few minutes away, in a quiet, attractive area. My grandson and I had a small basement apartment with two windows, a double bed, wardrobe, two chairs, and its own bathroom. It was clean, but the walls were battered and had been painted over rather roughly, so it needs renovation. A small table was missing. Service and digital communication were excellent. Two towels arrived straight away after we emailed, but the bedside lamp bulb never did.

The location was the best part, with everything close at hand, and the apartment was perfectly fine for a long weekend. We had the four-person option: one bedroom, a hallway with a small kitchenette, a sofa bed, a small bathroom, and a balcony that belongs to the building but can only be reached from our apartment. You can hear and slightly feel the metro beneath the building, though it didn’t bother us at night. A positive stay overall.

There was visible mold on the ceiling directly above the bed, and I brought it to their attention. They offered to send a “mold specialist” to work on it during my stay, but I declined because I had to sleep under that spot and didn’t want work happening there. We were two guests staying four nights and were given just two towels and two pillows for the whole visit. They ignored my request for more.
