The location was handy, about seven minutes by taxi or Uber from the O2, and the workers were polite when they checked us in. But our room was a letdown compared with the pictures and reviews. The bed and shower were clean, but the coffee facilities were dusty and dirty, the carpet hadn’t been hovered, and there was dust all over the skirting boards. The bathroom wasn’t very clean either. We were only there for one night, but it was a shame.

We asked for a refund because we don’t think this was handled properly, and I wouldn’t stay here again. We suspected bedbugs from the bites and signs in the room, which is a serious hygiene concern. The hotel said they’d “checked” and that it wasn’t bedbugs, but gave us no real evidence or reassurance about how thorough the inspection was. Their response felt dismissive. They offered complimentary drinks at the bar, even though we don’t live in London and the bar was closed while we were there. Nobody had told us it would be closed. Bedbugs aren’t a small nuisance; they can follow you home and cause ongoing problems, which was exactly our worry. I’d advise others to be cautious.

I needed somewhere at the last minute, and this turned out to be a great choice. The room was bigger than I expected, clean, and comfortable. It was only a short walk to my conference venue, and the lovely staff at checkout made the stay even better. I’d happily come back.

The room wasn’t huge, but it was plenty for what I needed, and it was clean with nice little details. I was a bit unsure about staying above a pub on a main road, but upstairs was as quiet as can be. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the pub seemed like a lovely local, with good food and beers. I was just popping in for a show at the O2 and was really pleased. Highly recommend!
