I cancelled within the free-cancellation period, but the hotel still charged my card through my Booking.com account the following day. They later acknowledged the mistake and said they’d issued a refund, but more than a month later the money still hasn’t come back to my card. When I called, the staff member seemed confused and said the charge was an error because they weren’t familiar with the system. It’s unacceptable for a 4* hotel to have untrained staff handling guests’ payment information and making serious mistakes. This points to very poor management and customer service. I won’t book here again.

We really liked the cute place and the friendly staff. I’ve taken off a star because there were problems with the elevator, and even though the property is pet-friendly, we found a tick in our room.

I booked a room for day use, but it took staff ages to find my reservation when I arrived. Then they told me the room would take 30 minutes to be ready. Why advertise rooms if they aren’t available?

The location was good, breakfast was good, and the service was nice. My room was tiny, the hot water took a while, and the stairs were steep, though I guess that’s London for you. There’s no reception after 6-7pm. Late check-in means using an automat, which surprised me because I’d told the hotel I was arriving late and they assured me it wouldn’t be a problem.

Really good location, just a five-minute walk from the tube, and the beds were comfy. The staff were lovely and available, and the continental breakfast had plenty of choice. The rooms were clean, though the showers were a bit small and the water pressure wasn’t great.
