Hilton London Kensington

The area feels very safe, with great cafes and restaurants, and the hotel is just a short walk from the High St and tube station. The collection is superb. Rooms are basic and small, but fine for the price. The air conditioning was great when it got up to 33 degrees, and the pool was fine. Reception was fast and efficient, but the bar staff and concierge were pretty poor and couldn't answer basic questions about the hotel's facilities or the area. It was a fine hotel and I would return, though I'd upgrade my room for a better experience.

My first room, 2115, smelled bad, the AC barely worked, and the door's secondary lock was broken. I went to the front desk, and a lovely young woman got permission to move me. The new room was bigger and much better. Rooms include a small refrigerator, electric kettle, assorted instant coffee and tea, and nice little shortbread cookies. Breakfast was pretty good too. There are lots of stores and pubs about 15 minutes down the street, and the bus stop is right outside.

The staff were outstanding, friendly, and very helpful, and breakfast was great. The location is good for catching the tube or a bus. The restaurant and bar had good options, although service was slow. I stayed twice over the course of a week. The bathrooms were a bit small: one had a slow-draining shower, and the other had a high step into a curved tub and shower. There was a sign about the drain, so that seems to be a permanent issue.

We stayed there on the hottest night of the whole spring in 2026, and I couldn't sleep because the air conditioning didn't work well for us. The room could have been cleaner, especially the carpet and chair. The bed wasn't comfortable either. It sloped when sitting or lying down, and the pillows were terrible for my head and neck, like marshmallows. The hotel is close to bus stations, and the lobby and staff we wanted to feel good and safe were really nice. That's why it's a four star for me.
