We’d known this place for years as the Black Prince landmark from when we lived in the area, but had never stayed. A one-night visit on Xmas day turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Reception is open 24/7, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The reception also had a lovely air freshener smell. Our room and bathroom were spacious, clean and modern. The king-size bed was comfortable, with a crisp white duvet cover. There was a large smart TV on the wall and tea and coffee making facilities with actual liquid milk in sachets. We look forward to coming back and would highly recommend it. The only letdown was the extortionate £5.85 price for a bottle of water. Remember to buy one at a supermarket and bring it with you.

After a long day at work, I was expecting a decent meal for £20. The chicken burger looked more like a cheap kids' play-place meal, and I wouldn't have paid £5 for it. The chips were decent, at least. The hotel itself is good, but that food feels like a cheap meal with a 300% markup. Typical corporate greed.

I stay here regularly for work and the rooms are always clean. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I haven't had any real problems apart from the occasional issue getting streaming devices to connect to the TV. A few dinner specials might add some variety, though that's a minor point.

We booked four nights through IHG because we wanted a hotel with a swimming pool, and the website said there was one. On arrival, reception told us there wasn't. That spoiled my four-day holiday after just one day there, and it took nearly the whole day to get a refund. I'm still dealing with IHG about getting the full amount back. A very bad experience.

The restaurant was good, and the staff were friendly. There's plenty of free parking if you're staying at the hotel or using it. I was here on a business trip, and the location worked well for getting to all the places I needed.
