Holiday Inn London Camden Lock by IHG

Nearly a week later, my deposit still hasn't been returned. They were quick to charge this random cost but slow to pay it back. The lift is dodgy and takes you to the wrong floor, so the hotel should put up signs showing which floor you're on. There was a lot of noise at night, including drunk people screaming outside, so don't expect peace and quiet. The toilet also made buzzing noises. The staff seemed inexperienced, and as a young woman I wasn't comfortable with the all-male staff, especially at night. For nearly £200, this was an overpriced, basic hotel in a noisy location. No biscuits or decent tea bags in the room, and it felt more like a two-star place with basic amenities. Not worth the price.

Bars nearby were noisy until about midnight, then it quietened down and all I could hear were ducks on the canal. The hotel is right on Camden Lock, so it was lovely watching the barges come and go. It's only about five minutes from Camden Town tube station. Reception was prompt and efficient, and the room was clean, well equipped, and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, with a choice of soft or firmer pillows. The public areas were clean and nicely designed too. The price was higher than I'd have liked, but in line with the area for what you get. I'd recommend it and would happily stay again.

What stood out most was how welcoming everyone was, from reception through drinks at the bar to breakfast the next morning. The whole team was genuinely polite and professional. It reminded us of the good old days, when hospitality felt effortless and caring. Thank you to the team for making our stay special. Holiday Inn Camden is in a fantastic spot for exploring Camden and getting around London. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. We had a great stay.

The bed was enormous and luxurious, honestly the most comfortable bed in the world. Getting up in the morning was hard. We were celebrating my partner’s daughter’s 18th birthday, and Qureshi and the team made it feel special from the moment we arrived. Balloons on the mirror, gummy bears in the room, and all those thoughtful touches really made her feel celebrated. The staff's kindness and care made the experience unforgettable. Nothing felt forced or corporate, just genuinely thoughtful hospitality. Holiday Inn Camden Lock is a fabulous, warm, welcoming hotel in a perfect location. A huge thank you to Qureshi and everyone there for making such an important occasion feel magical. We'll absolutely be back.
