Hotel Lily

The receptionist was really friendly and understanding, and helped me move to another room. That one was much better and seemed recently decorated or refurbished. I had asked to switch because my first room had no duvet set or pillow, and the window handles were broken so I couldn't close the window. The location is great and the prices are very competitive, though the rooms can be a downside.

We were four girls trying to find my friend's stolen phone, and we tracked it to this hotel. We found the man who had been staying in room 014. Please be careful, I don't feel safe here. The reception staff are involved, in my view, and wouldn't help us.

We lost money by leaving and paying for another hotel, but we don't regret it. We were booked for two nights and knew as soon as we entered reception that we wouldn't stay here for the rest of our trip. It was very late, so we looked for somewhere else and waited until morning to move. The room was dirty, the bathroom door was coming off its hinges, and there was a toenail in the bathtub. Across from the bathroom was a cupboard, so I asked my partner to open it out of curiosity. There was a pile of dirty, used towels on the floor. If clean, well-kept rooms in a nice area are what you want, this isn't the place. It's the worst place I've stayed, and calling it a hotel is a stretch. Zero stars, and that's generous.

The bed had clean sheets, but it was painfully uncomfortable. From the entrance and reception to the corridors and lift, the whole property looked neglected and abandoned. The cramped, partly wrecked conditions made the stay genuinely traumatic for me. Inside the room, the curtains were greasy and filthy, the lights were broken, and the tiny TV had no remote. The bathroom looked ancient and was so dirty I couldn't bring myself to shower. Its mastic sealant was blackened and rotten-looking, as though it had been neglected for years. There was just one small bar of soap and nothing else, not even enough to wash your hands properly. I rarely write negative reviews, but this place was distressing and, in my view, not fit for people to stay in. What upset me most was that management thought it was acceptable to rent out in this condition. I can't understand how anyone could charge guests for it as suitable accommodation. This may be the first review I've written, but I felt I had to warn others. Please avoid it.
