The location and security are the real strengths here, and make it well suited to solo travellers on a short stay. The windows don’t open at all, so there’s no fresh air. Rooms are so tiny that it’s impossible to fit more than one person, and the bed isn’t full size or big enough for two adults. There was a strong sewer smell in the lobby, especially in the morning. Staff were okay. Rooms aren’t cleaned during your stay unless you request it and make sure the cleaners are told. It took us two days to get ours cleaned.

The position made it easy to get to the theatres, national galleries and Trafalgar Square. The rooms are small, but laid out very efficiently and impeccably clean. The shades block out the light, and there’s hardly any street noise, so it’s easy to sleep. Breakfast is available at an economical price, but with so many good places to eat nearby, we never had it at the Inn. It’s a clean, minimalist place in an excellent spot. A great choice if you’ll be out all day and evening and don’t need a luxury room to spend time in.

The hotel’s location was the best part of our stay. The room was in poor shape and felt old and worn, and the carpet was so dirty that our socks were visibly filthy afterward. It was also very small, especially the bed, which was too narrow for two. The shower was disappointing, with water pressure so low that washing my hair properly was almost impossible. Breakfast fell short as well: just two kinds of bread, a little yoghurt and canned fruit. It might be okay for one night because of the location, but I wouldn’t recommend a longer stay.

The staff are excellent, and the location is spot on. It’s also very efficient. But the communal carpets are worn down, and the hotel feels like it needs a bit of a glow-up. Some money spent on wear and tear would get the place back up to speed.
